About the Artist

Patrick Lomaliza doesn’t paint for decoration — he paints to decode a reality. Born and raised in Kinshasa, his work pulses with the urgency of a city that never stops moving. Blending graffiti, mathematical codes, Lingala words, and historic references, Lomaliza transforms the canvas into a site of memory and resistance.Influenced by Jean-Michel Basquiat but rooted in the complexities of contemporary Congo, he explores what it means to come of age in a place that both dreams and survives. Whether depicting urban youth wrapped in designer logos or evoking 1974 Kinshasa through echoes of Ali and Foreman, his art captures a generation suspended between history and hope. His work has been exhibited at the French Institute in Kinshasa and featured in emerging artist showcases across the DRC, South Africa and the USA via Artsy. Through KIN ART, his paintings are now reaching new audiences in Europe and beyond — a platform for collectors to engage with one of the most vital young voices in Congolese contemporary art.
